Activity 1.1 - Brainstorming
Completion requirements
To find a topic to write about, or to narrow a given topic, get a blank piece of paper and take a few minutes to “brainstorm”.
Make a list of every possible topic you might like to learn about. List anything you can think of – ideas from your classes, the news, local orinternational events, your grandfather’s stories, a hobby or an activity you like to do. Even drinking beer can lead to an interesting topic: How has foreign investment affected the beer industry in Slovakia and the Czech Republic? How do brands of beer differentiate themselves in marketing?
Do not stop brainstorming until you have forced yourself to write down a list of at least eight to ten topic possibilities.
