WATER

 

Lesson topic and staging

 

This lesson looks at the problem of hydrological cycle. Students test their knowledge related to the role of water in our lives and try to talk about the topic. Then they read the text “The Water Cycle” and focus on the sentence completion with the parts of sentences removed from the text. Next, students match up words with their correct definitions. Finally, students discuss the way how the water cycle works and why water vapor in our atmosphere plays an important part in our weather.

 

 

By the end of the lesson, students should have:

 

-         extracted specific information  and language items from reading the text

-         extended their range of vocabulary related to water

-         extended their range of idiomatic expressions connected with water

-         discussed questions on the topic of water cycle

-         explained the “water cycle” to various age groups of children

-         looked at the language of riddles.
