Lesson topic and staging
This lesson looks at the process of bird hatching from the egg. Students read the texts “From chick to chicken” and “Inside an egg” and describe how the chick develops in the shell of its “space capsule “.Students then focus on question formation related to the process of hatching and discuss some topical points. Next, students identify words according to their definitions and learn to describe objects and diagrams. Finally, students discuss animal categories, animal classification and different topics related to animals and pets.
By the end of the lesson, students should have:
- extracted specific information and language items from the reading texts
- extended their range of vocabulary related to bird hatching from egg
