Lesson topic and staging
This lesson focuses on gardening. Students read a text about gardening with kids and extract vocabulary. Then students work in pairs and answer the questions about gardening. Next, students do a quiz,English Vocabulary for the Garden, when they match the words and pictures correctly. Students then read a text about English garden and study vocabulary taken from the text. Next, students translate the text from Slovak to English and then they train their brain with English words for gardening tools. Students then learn English garden vocabulary by listening and repeating words.Finally, students watch a video on gardening and then answer the questions based on what they see and hear.
Objectives
By the end of the lesson, students should have:
- extracted specific information and language items from reading texts and a listening exercise
- extended their range of vocabulary related to gardening
- participated in pair discussions to express their opinions on gardening
- understood the meaning of the words from reading texts
- discussed questions on the topic of gardening
