Warm-up:
1. Use photographs (find at home) to tell about a trip you took last holidays. Describe who the people in the photo are, how they are related to you if so, how long you stayed, what you did while you were there, what was good, bad, what means of transport you used, etc.
Pre-reading exercises:
1. Role play.
Now, make a dialogue with your partner about your last short trip in the area, answer the following questions and make similar ones.
- Where did you go?
- How long did you stay?
- Who did you go with? (Who went with you?)
- What did you do there?
- What did you like best/worst?
- Would you visit again? Why or why not?
- How much did you spend? On what?
- How did you travel?
2. Discuss.
What is your favourite way of travelling? Why?
What are the advantages and disadvantages of travelling by underground?
What is the public transport system in your city like? How could it be improved?
Would you like to be a taxi driver? Why/not? What are the good points/bad points of the job?
