Assignment: Analysis of Organic Farming in Europe
Course: Management of Production
Objective:
Your task is to work in teams of four and conduct an analysis of organic farming in Europe based on data from Eurostat. Each group will select one of the following topics related to Organic Farming:
- Organic operators by status of the registration process
- Organic crop area by agricultural production methods and crops
- Organic crop production by crops
- Organic livestock
- Organic production of animal products
- Organic production of aquaculture products
- Processors of organic products by NACE Rev. 2 activity
Deliverables:
Each group must submit a Word document containing the following elements:
✅ 10 key indicators to analyze (you must include numerical data and discuss trends):
- The total value of the selected indicator for Slovakia
- The ranking of Slovakia in comparison to EU countries
- The European leader in this indicator
- The country with the lowest value in this indicator
- The percentage share of Slovakia in the total EU value
- The growth trend of this indicator over the last 5 years in Slovakia
- The difference between Slovakia and the EU average
- The impact of the indicator on sustainability and the environment
- Future trends and expected developments in this area
- Own indicator
✅ Visualizations (mandatory):
- 2 graphs (e.g., bar chart, line graph, etc.)
- 1 map (showing the distribution of the indicator across the EU)
✅ Written analysis:
- Minimum 500 words explaining your findings, including key comparisons, trends, and any significant insights.
