Managerial Informatics

Course description:Course content is build on the knowledge from the subject Informatics and it is aimed at working with word processor (MS WORD), spreadsheets (MS EXCEL), database (MS ACCESS), and presentation software (MS POWERPOINT) and use them to solve practical problems of managers and economists.
Subject objectives:
The subject aims to apply theoretical knowledge and practical skills from work with MS Office applications. The student will be able to work actively with the text, tables, charts, and data in the database system and create presentations. The gained knowledge will be able to be used in other subjects, in the preparation of semestral projects, individual assignments, the bachelor thesis, and eventually the diploma thesis. At the same time, the student will become familiar with other topics related to the work of a manager, such as project management and the MS Project application, working with websites, working with large amounts of data (Big Data), programming, cyber security, artificial intelligence, and information systems. Students get a basic overview of each topic and have the opportunity to choose subjects that follow these topics.

MS Word - the selection of word processing problems
What you will learn in this lesson:
- work on the file, make the basic file settings,
- work with different tools for formatting text, paragraphs, styles,
- insert and modify various objects,
- work with tools such as table of contents, footnotes, bibliographic references, table and picture titles and registers,
- using mail merge tools.

MS Excel - selection of issues of data processing in the form of tables and graphs
What you will learn in this lesson:
- work with different sequences,
- create and edit formulas,
- use functions (logical, date, time, mathematical, statistical)
- edit and search data by using conditional formatting,
- use some advance tools in graphs,
- create pivot tables and graphs.
